About

Play4Promise is a non-profit organization that supports families who are experiencing hardships, marginalized and underserved. These families are often at risk of suffering toxic stress and their children are at a greater risk of having life long consequences as result. Parents and caregivers are educated and empowered to help their child/children achieve developmental milestones through play. The use of play is emphasized because it is the natural way children learn and it's fun! They can learn and laugh together no matter where they are or what situation they are facing.

Our Mission

Educating and empowering families through the love and laughter of play.

Our Mission

Our Vision

Play4Promise will provide play and art activities as well as supportive guidance to parents, optimizing their child’s developmental progress for a life filled with love and success.

Founder and President

Raquel Olmo graduated with a Master's in Occupational Therapy from Florida International University in 2008. Early on she knew her true passion was to support families enduring hardships, who are marginalized and often forgotten, domestically and abroad. In 2007 she was awarded a grant to study and work with families living in poverty with limited access to healthcare in Peru and Mexico.  In the last several years, she volunteered in an orphanage in South East Asia and refugee camps in Jordan and Greece. Throughout the year she provides workshops in shelters that serve families with young children in New York City and is currently developing an outreach project in Puerto Rico. Raquel works tirelessly to empower families and caregivers with simple tools that support a child's development and promise.
